Help us pick an event!

Due to the issues at the Mexican border, we will not be scheduling our annual bus trip to Caliente. Instead, we would like to host a new event, but we want your help in deciding what to do! Please vote in our poll, and if you have another idea that we didn't list, check the "something different" button, and send a comment with your idea! We are definitely hosting the 2nd Annual Temecula Winery Tour this year, so even if it isn't the vote winner, don't worry, you will still be able to attend!

GPA Dog Wash Fundraiser - Sunday, July 26, 2009, 10 AM-Until

Bring your doggies for a clean, fun filled day and a romp in the corral with their doggie friends. Enjoy snacks, lunch and beverages while your doggies get bathed, toenails clipped, ears cleaned and a general pampering! Greyhound merchandise will be available for shoppers.  Walk-ins are accommodated and APPOINTMENTS are appreciated!

There wiill be foster dogs ready for adoption in attendence in addition to those with broken legs that this event helps with their recovery.

When you arrive at the McRorie's, PLEASE be reminded that the area is a residential neighborhood, and that there is NO PARKING on the streets of La Habra Heights. RETIREMENT DAY - TBD - Volunteers & Foster Homes Needed

The next retirement day has been scheduled for Saturday, TBD.  We bring in as many greyhounds as we have foster homes. If you would like to foster one, please contact Shelly at (714)255-9913. Let's make this a happy retirement day for as many hounds as we can.

A retirement day is a greyt experience for experienced greyhound companions and first time volunteers alike. Each dog will need a friendly human guide through exams and bath time. Please join us to see these dogs taking their first steps off the track! The dogs usually arrive around 11 AM. Volunteers that would like to help set-up are welcome to arrive after 10 AM. we provide lunch for volunteers.

If you are just interested in seeing the dogs just arriving from the track, you are welcome to join us and see the most recently retired greyhounds. This will be their début as a pet and they will be bewildered, but enjoying the attention.

Show and Tells: Come see what all the fuss is about! We have so much fun talking about our favorite subject - greyhounds! If you have never attended a show and tell before, the only things you need to bring are your hound, and a bed for him or her to lay on.  We provide the rest! Most show and tells last about 3 hours, and are over before you know it. We get the majority of our applications for adoption from people who saw us at one of these events, so you can rest assured you will be doing your part in helping find homes for the beautiful hounds.  If you are interested in attending an event near you, please call Beverly Mila de la Roca 626-963-8693.
